POLICE are putting up dozens of posters of a serial shoplifter who has been given an antisocial behaviour order after spitting at a PCSO.
Neil Francis Palmer, 32, spat on and punched the officer after he was caught stealing meat from Sainsbury's Local in Willerby.
Officers are now putting up posters in shops across the west Hull villages detailing the conditions of Palmer's Asbo.
PC Andy White, neighbourhood officer for Willerby and Kirk Ella, said: "He is a really nasty piece of work.
"He is a very intimidating person and particularly targets female members of shop staff.
"He tends to go in the shops after drinking alcohol, steal something and then, when confronted by staff, he becomes loud and aggressive.
"When the police attend, he becomes more aggressive and violent and often spits."
Palmer, of All Saints Street, Hull city centre, could face jail if he breaches the four-year order.
It was made at Beverley Magistrates' Court following an application by Humberside Police.
The court was told Palmer took some meat from the fridge in Sainsbury's in November last year and began eating it in the store.
He also put other packets of meat inside his pockets.
Staff from the store called the local policing team and, when two PCSOs arrived at the store,
Palmer spat at and punched one of the officers. He clenched his fists towards two female members of staff.
He also damaged a door within the shop.
PC White said: "These officers were just trying to do their job and did not deserve to be treated like this. Spitting is disgusting, but people still seem to do it even though it is not acceptable.
"I am really pleased we have got this order and I hope it means he will stay out of the shops and stop causing problems.
"We have been putting posters up in the shops he has committed offences in, as well as sending them to parish councils in the area and to the local neighbourhood network groups, so that everyone is aware of his conditions."
Documents submitted to the court showed a list of offences dating back to 2009.
In February last year, he also spat at a female custody officer at Queens Gardens police station after being arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Police launched an appeal to find Palmer on Monday to serve him with the Asbo papers. He was found and given the order on Tuesday.

Under the terms of the antisocial behaviour order, Neil Francis Palmer is banned from:• Acting or inciting others to act in a manner that causes harassment, alarm or distress to people not of the same household within the Humberside Police area.• Acting or inciting others to engage in behaviour which is threatening, abusive, disruptive or intimidating to one or more people not of the same household within the Humberside Police area.• Throwing or kicking any object, or spitting at any person, animal, vehicle or property in any public place within the police area, except when taking part in any sporting activity in a designated sports facility or public park.
