HULL KR centre Kris Welham wants his teammates to stay 'switched on' for Sunday's trip to strugglers Salford.
The Robins vice-captain believes better communication was key to their much-improved display when beating Widnes 44-18 at MS3 Craven Park.
One of eight different try scorers on the afternoon, it was the 25-year-old's first game of the season, having suffered a broken left hand in the derby friendly at Hull in pre-season.
His return, combined with Greg Eden's full debut, gave the Robins much greater experience in their backs.
And Welham says a bit more talking between players went a long way to getting the result.
"We were more switched on this week and there was more talking done out on the pitch," he said.
"There seemed to be more communication and as a result everyone knew what they were doing.
"The first two weeks hadn't gone according to plan for us and it was frustrating.
"It was a good week in training in the build-up to the game and we put everything right in the first half that was wrong in the first two matches."
Thankfully, Welham had no frustrations with the hand injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the season.
He came through his first full game since June 11 last year, a period in which Rovers managed just one win, away to the Vikings last season.
Scoring a try made his return all the more special, and he hopes to continue that form against Salford this weekend.
"It's been a long time coming but it's good to be back," he said.
"There was a lot of frustration to put behind me and a bit of disappointment too."
"It's 100 per cent and I'm good to go again.
"The bone I broke was above my middle finger from the wrist to the knuckle, but it healed quickly.
"I'll wear a bandage until I'm 100 per cent without it.
"I'm wearing it as precaution for now to not make it any worse.
"Salford haven't won any of their three games so far but are not far off us in the league, so it should be a good game.
"We won't underestimate them as sooner or later they will win and they will come out looking for it.
"We have to make sure we are switched on again and that it is not against us."
