STEVE Bruce applauded the "complete performance" from his Hull City side as they made it a hat-trick of home wins by brushing aside Blackburn Rovers 2-0 last night. Second-half goals from Gedo and Ahmed Elmohamady chalked up three wins from three for the Tigers as Bruce's men produced their most complete performance of 2013 to maintain their grip on second spot. Wins for automatic promotion rivals Watford and Crystal Palace denied City the opportunity to pull clear, but surprise defeats for league-leaders Cardiff and fifth-placed Leicester still ensured it was a night to cherish. The results of City's rivals were secondary to Bruce, though, and he said: "That's the best we've played since Leeds (on December 29). It was a complete performance from start to finish. "There was a hunger about us and a freshness about us. They've had one shot on our goal and that's a Blackburn side with a very good squad. "Our lads were terrific and that's as well as we've played for a long, long time, from back to front. "We've proved that there's a resilience about this group and there's some good energy levels about them. They'll run a million miles for you. "It was one of those complete performances where you just hope you can continue it. If we play like that then we're as good as anyone in this division, that's for certain." Against a Blackburn side that fielded former target DJ Campbell as a second-half substitute, it was City's new goalscoring hero Gedo that again stole the headlines alongside countryman Elmohamady. Gedo's six-month loan from Egyptian side Al Ahly was rubber-stamped during the same hours that Campbell famously snubbed the Tigers in favour of a move to Ewood Park, and Bruce was thrilled to see his striker score for a third consecutive game. "We needed somebody to come in and do well. We all know what happened on deadline day so for him to come in and get three from three is fantastic. We know he will hit a wall but he's a very good player. "He uses that bit of class and a lot of ability, and thankfully it's three from three which is the icing on the cake."
