A SECOND "armed" bank robbery has taken place in Hull today. Police were called to the Natwest Bank on Hessle Road this afternoon after a man went into the bank at 2.45pm and handed a note to a cashier claiming he had a weapon and demanding money. The man, who spoke with a local accent, is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, wearing glasses and with facial hair.He was wearing black track suit bottoms, a black hooded Adidas track suit top with red stripes over the shoulder and hood and is reported to have run off along Constable Street. A police helicopter attempted to find the suspect, who was in possession of an indisclosed amount of money. This is the second robbery of its kind in two days and police are exploring a connection between this robbery and one that took place at the Yorkshire Bank on Princes Road yesterday. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Cunningham said: "As there are some similarities to the robbery at the Yorkshire Bank yesterday we cannot rule out the possibility that this incident is linked. "Enquiries are currently still very much ongoing at this time and again we appeal to the public for any help they can offer. "The offender and the stolen money may well have been stained with pink dye which was dispersed at the time of the robbery, so if you see someone bearing such stains, most likely on the arm, or in possession of stained bank notes, please let us know. "I would also ask that people take another look at the images we released yesterday in connection with the incident at the Yorkshire Bank and consider whether this is someone they know. If so, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. "Again, I would like to emphasize that no weapon was seen, but offer a cautionary note to the public that if they see someone they believe could be connected to the incidents, that they do not approach them, but instead contact us immediately on 101 quoting log 305 of today or 244 of yesterday 5 February 2013."
