LOVE is in the air – and the water – after dining with fish at The Deep was named one of the top ten things to do on Valentine's Day.
Tesco Magazine has listed the aquarium's Two Rivers restaurant as the perfect place to eat out on the most romantic day of the year.
The magazine says dining at the attraction's restaurant is a must for February 14 and is the only venue listed in the North.
Anyone taking the plunge and deciding to sample dining at The Deep will be seated against a backdrop of sea life.
Couples can dine with the sharks and rays in the Endless Oceans Gallery, or with the wolf eels – which stay with the same mate for life – in the Cool Seas Zone.
To mark Valentine's Day, The Deep is holding three nights to celebrate the occasion.
The Deep's marketing manager, Becky Leach, said: "We are delighted to have been chosen by Tesco as its top attraction for Valentine's Day.
"We feel it reflects well on what we offer both as a visitor attraction and also the quality and setting of our Two Rivers restaurant.
"We are unique in being able to offer diners the chance to eat in one of Europe's most spectacular areas, where you can enjoy your meal surrounded by sharks, rays and other creatures from the underwater world.
"And this has been backed up this year by the fact the Valentine's Day celebrations have been extended to take in the Friday and Saturday after Valentine's Day."
On arrival for the Valentine meal, diners will be presented with a Cupid's bow cocktail and a single red rose, as well as a three-course meal, sourced from local produce, with coffee and handmade chocolates to finish.
