HULL KR are confident full-back Greg Eden will be fit to face Catalan in their Super League opener despite suffering a hamstring injury.
Eden was sent for scans last week to check the damage after the former Huddersfield man complained of pains following the derby win over Hull.
Those scans have brought positive results however, and coach Craig Sandercock says he is 'hopeful' he will be able to play.
"We are hoping he'll be ready," he told the Mail.
"The boys have trained really hard and the 17 that play on Sunday will try their best. We will be ready for Catalan."
Sandercock desperately needs to avoid any further injuries to his squad as he will start the season without injured stars Ryan O'Hara, Kris Welham and Sean Gleeson, while stand-off Travis Burns is suspended.
On the positive side, Cory Paterson is expected to be fit having suffered a shoulder injury in the pre-season derby with Hull, as is Con Mika.
Rhys Lovegrove will also be available having overcome illness.
"Rhys had a virus and missed the Wigan friendly and was still feeling the effects when he played against Hull," Sandercock said.
"He trained really well on Monday morning and he'll be ready to go."
Sandercock's opposite number Laurent Frayssinous has similar problems as he prepares to take charge of his first Super League game, with talented scrum-half Scott Dureau and hard-hitting prop Lopini Paea both missing.
Dureau had a tumour removed from behind his eye before Christmas and Paea had knee surgery and is out until March.
