A 70-year-old woman was robbed in her home in Riston Street, west Hull, police say.
She was alone in the house when a man entered through an unlocked door.
The woman challenged the robber, but he barged in and forcefully pushed her into the kitchen. He then searched the house.
While he was upstairs, the woman left the house and called for help, only for the robber to drag her back inside.
The man, described as in his 30s, about 6ft tall and wearing a grey hooded jacket and gloves, eventually left with money and cigarettes.
His victim suffered a minor hand injury in the attack, which happened yesterday evening (Thursday) between 4.50pm and 5pm.
