Police are searching for two people who threatened a woman and a 16-year-old girl with a blade and a bottle in a Hull street.
A number of people contacted the Mail to report armed police at an address in Great Union Street, close to the city centre, at 2.35pm today.
A spokesman for Humberside Police was unable to confirm if officers were armed. However, he said: "A woman in her 30s and a girl, 16, were allegedly threatened by a man and woman who had been having an argument.
"(The man and woman) allegedly shouted at (the victims) before threatening them with a bladed article and a bottle. The offenders then walked off."
Neither of the victims were hurt.
Officers have yet to find the man and woman and inquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Humberside Police on 101.
