HDM Sport on FacebookCity turn to Callum McManaman and Steven Fletcher after Sanogo blow WITH injuries mounting, Hull City's search for new players is widening and today's national reports have linked them with Championship flyer Callum McManaman as well as Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.Wigan winger McManaman was key figure in the Latics' 2013 FA Cup win and has been called up for the England under-21s duty in the past – although injury has prevented him from turning out for Gareth Southgate's side. Meanwhile, Fletcher has scored four times for Gus Poyet's side in all competitions this season, but wasn't part of the side that lost 1-0 to Liverpool at the weekend, the Scotsman missing out through a groin injury. Today's Daily Mail reports that Hull City manager Steve Bruce is keen on McManaman, but may struggle to meet Wigan's £6m valuation, with Bruce known to have a limited budget following his summer spending. And having already missed out on Yaya Sanogo, with the Arsenal striker opting to joining Crystal Palace on loan, the same paper suggests Bruce is still searching for a striker to freshen up his options up front, with Fletcher one under scrutiny, should a move for Jermain Defoe fail to materialise.West Brom look to beat Tigers to United midfielder MISSING out on targets is becoming a worrying theme through this transfer window for Hull City. Having already seen Sanogo opt for different pastures, The Times reports that Darren Fletcher could be lured to The Hawthorns by new West Brom boss Tony Pulis. Fletcher is on the Baggies' wish-list and could be set for a loan move until the end of the season to aid the Midlands club in their fight against relegation.City had been heavily linked with the United midfielder before the transfer window opened, and were believed to be favourites to take the Scottish midfielder away from Old Trafford. However Pulis could be set to land another blow to the Tigers' survival hopes if he lands Fletcher, adding to the disappointment of the weekend's 1-0 defeat there.Ben Arfa misery finally set to be lifted WHILE dealing in the transfer window is proving a frustrating exercise for the Tigers, it's proving just as demoralising for former loanee Hatem Ben Arfa. He must have thought he was out of the woods when he signed for French side OGC Nice at the beginning of January, putting a turbulent last 12 months in English football – that included an unsuccessful stint at City – behind him. However, it's now emerged that the Frenchman may not be able to play again this season, with confusion over wether he has played for the maximum two clubs allowed. French magazine L'Equipe reported there was uncertainty as to whether a development game he played for Newcastle under-21s counted as an official match. However, The Guardian has reported that Nice are confident that the French Football Federation will register the player in the coming days, finally putting an end to a troubled spell for the 27-year-old. Fans desperate for new forward in January sales THERE is no doubting where City's problems lie at the moment on the pitch, and fans are all too aware that extra firepower is needed in their battle against the drop. And it comes as little surprise that a striker is high on the priority list for Tigers supporters this transfer window. In a poll held by FourFourTwo, City fans voted Jermain Defoe as the player they'd most like to see their club sign this month, with Marseille forward Andre Ayew close behind. The need for creativity is also something the fans are keen to address, as demonstrated by the presence of Manchester United's young playmaker Adnan Januzaj, while a midfield enforcer wouldn't go a miss either, as fans plumped for both Darren Fletcher and Victor Wanyama as preferred targets.
