Fire crews and paramedics raced to a Hull primary school tonight after reports of a chemical spill.
A cleaner was overcome by fumes as she decanted chemicals in a confined space, believed to have been a store cupboard, at Newland St John Primary in Beresford Avenue, west Hull.
Ambulances and fire crews were called just before 5pm as members of staff still at the school helped the cleaner while the alarm was raised.
Six people, including the cleaner, have been checked over by ambulance staff but no-one required hospital treatment. No children were at the school at the time of the chemical spill.
