Charges are set to be slashed in the new year at two multi-storey car parks run by Hull City Council.
Guildhall officials hope the move to reduce all-day charges at the Pryme Street and Osborne Street car parks will attract more motorists to the two sites.
Both car parks currently only have an average of 10 per cent occupancy rate, despite having almost 900 parking spaces between them.
A new £3 all-day charge will be introduced from Monday, January 5.
The current charge is £6.60.
