FORMER Hull KR star Peter Fox says he wants to give something back to the people of the city by running a new fitness programme.
Fox, 30, played for the Robins from 2008 to 2012 but has found himself out of favour with the game following an exit from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats midway through the 2014 season.
Without a club for the forthcoming campaign, the winger set his sights on life after rugby league and has set up a new training regime called Team24 Free Fitcamp, held over four weeks.
The programme places emphasis on nutritional advice as well as physical activity to support a balanced diet.
And Fox says he's keen to see the obesity levels in Hull decrease as quickly as possible.
"I am under no illusions that a career in rugby league doesn't last forever, and I want to give something back to the people who have supported me over the years," he told the Mail.
"Around 60 per cent of people in Hull are fighting obesity problems and my aim is to get that number down as quickly as I can.
"As much as the programme is about excercise, the nutritional aspect is vitally important, too. The challenge is based around 80 per cent nutrition and 20 per cent activity.
"It's a new challenge for me and it's perfect for people who want to lose a bit of weight after Christmas."
Held on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning on January 6, the free programme, held at Wolfreton Lower School on Carr Lane, Willerby, promises eight classes of physical training, two fitness challenges as well as fitness evaluation and training.
