Throw Tom Ince back into Hull City mix for festive games, says Peter Swan

AT a time of year when you need as many bodies as possible in your squad, it was no surprise to see Tom Ince return to Hull City this week.

I was stunned when Ince was sent out on loan in the first place and he's a player I'd have had in my squad every week this season, because he has that ability to at least come off the bench and offer you something.

He's an attacking threat, whether out wide or through the middle in a forward role and while he hasn't been on the goal trail, he runs at defenders and gets at teams with his pace and trickery.

That's the type of player a team struggling to score goals needs. I'd have him in my squad for both games coming up, and given how ineffective City's midfield and strikers have been, it can't hurt to throw him in and see if he can be the hero.

Maynor Figueroa coming back is a strange one, because while you need bodies, he's not someone who can play and offer anything to the side for me.

City have defensive absentees, but Harry Maguire can come in and so can Paul McShane.

Steve Bruce has said McShane must apologise to him and the rest of the team before he will play again.

I know I've said and done things in the past that I've regretted and I've said sorry afterwards.

But we don't know the details of what has gone on. I've also said things I've not regretted and I've not apologised for them, because I've stuck to my principles.

McShane may do the same. Only time will tell on that one.
