With the advent of the pantomime season, you expect a few giggles, sniggers, cheers and hisses.
Take a trip down to the Spa in Bridlington and this year's pantomime will provide all the above in such abundance you will question why you ever stay at home.
With the bubbly and bouncy Rustie Lee as the ever-so lovable Lilac Fairy, you can be sure the laughs will come long, loud and plentiful.
But it takes more than one person to make a panto special, and I can honestly say that all the cast, from the superb Princess Aurora (Lori-Suzanne Kellett), through to evil Carabosse (played with pure nastiness by Louise Travis), plus everyone else in between, joined together to create fun, dance, slapstick and frolics for almost three hours.
Muddles, played by Simon J Grant – of CBBC fame – along with King Crumble (John Lyons from Touch Of Frost), are the backbone of these wonderful seaside shenanigans.
Helping them merrily along the path to the enchanted castle is madcap Steve Shappelle as Nurse Katy Cough-Drop.
Nurse Katy throws in oodles of humour, aimed at kids and adults, and has such a great repertoire of one-liners, scripted and unscripted, that my sides started to ache with laughter.
Jonathan Eio, plays Prince Valliant to perfection, with some great renditions of popular songs, and young dancers Manolis Georgiou and Shane Scarth amazed the audience with their agile display of gymnastic dance moves.
Rustie Lee is an inspired choice for this pantomime, and with plenty of ad libs and big laughs, she sees off the evil fairy and brings everyone together to live happily ever after, with the obligatory wedding, of course.
Young dancers, from the local Collette Tyler Dance School, add the finishing magic touches to this top-class presentation.
