A PRISONER has been stabbed by a fellow inmate at Full Sutton Prison near Pocklington.
The attack happened yesterday at 4pm.
A Prison Service spokeswoman said: "A Full Sutton prisoner was stabbed by another prisoner at 4pm on January 21.
"The prisoner was taken by ambulance to hospital and treated for a stomach wound. He was returned to the prison later that night.
"The police are investigating and the prison will conduct an internal investigation."
High security HMP Full Sutton holds around 600 category A and B prisoners.
