SIEMENS is recruiting the first 14 operational staff for Green Port Hull as it pledges to make the city a global hub for renewables.
• Siemens jobs: Everything you need to know
The German energy giant described the roles as the "vanguard" of a recruitment operation which will eventually see it employ 1,000 people.
The jobs are split between six land-based stores and servicing jobs and eight offshore wind turbine commissioning technician roles.
High demand is expected for the positions after 80 people applied for a now-filled office manager's job.
The first five members of the project team have already been appointed and moved into a Hull Marina office last week.
Project director Finbarr Dowling said: "These positions show we're really getting geared up.
"They are the vanguard for our recruitment in Hull.
"More will follow early in the new year and we will continue to recruit through next year and 2016."
The roles on offer include a site stores manager and five stores operatives.
They will support Siemens' existing onshore and offshore wind turbine projects in the UK from an interim warehouse facility in Hull.
Siemens' stores team will eventually relocate to the £310m turbine blade factory and assembly site in Alexandra Dock, east Hull.
Construction of the buildings there is due to begin in the summer, with production starting in November, 2016.
The new wind turbine commissioning technicians will be based in Hull but will work on offshore wind projects in the UK and Europe.
Mr Dowling said: "Initially, we are likely to be recruiting in relatively small groups of under or around ten but we will be accelerating to larger numbers later in the process.
"We want to build a critical mass of experience and expertise in Hull, to create a centre of excellence for wind power."
The 14 positions are advertised in today's Mail, will be posted on the Siemens website, and via JobCentre Plus.
They will be available for one week only, with applications closing at midnight on Tuesday, December 23.
All applicants must live within a 40-minute radius of Hull or be willing to relocate to the city.
The stores positions require solid warehousing and logistics experience. A full, valid driving licence is vital and a forklift licence desirable.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation and good practice.
Siemens managers stress the wind turbine commissioning technician jobs require people who are highly flexible.
They must also be prepared to work away from home.
Candidates must have hands-on electrical or mechanical experience and possess appropriate qualifications.
All applicants who meet the minimum criteria and pass initial reviews will also need to complete online tests.
Those shortlisted will then be interviewed at the start of February.
All applications must be submitted electronically.
