An update of people convicted and sentenced in the courts in Hull and the East Riding.Samuel Nichols, 22, of Dane Park Road, Orchard Park, was given 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, for stealing nine jars of coffee, worth £44.91, from B&M Bargains.Richard Price, 44, of Falsgrave Road, west Hull, was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work for assaulting a woman by beating her. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.David Ward, 41, of Roper Street, west Hull, was given a 12-month community order for stealing deodorant and beer, worth £13.74, from Bustens. He was also fined £10 and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge.Benjamin Dobson, 27, of Bridlington, was conditionally discharged for 12 months for stealing food, worth £1.50, from Tesco. He was ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.David Brown, 40, of Milner Road, Bridlington, was fined £50 for failing to provide a sample for a drugs test. He was ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.Edgaras Pupsys, 27, of Heber Street, Goole, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, for assaulting a woman by beating her. He was also ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay an £80 victim surcharge.Sonny Allott, 26, of Walton Street, west Hull, was fined £200 for fishing without a licence. He was ordered to pay £127 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.Jason Harvey, 25, of Victoria Street, west Hull, was fined £150 for being in possession of mephedrone. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.Justinas Masulevicius, 23, of Oak Avenue, Goole, was fined £450 for assaulting PC Neale Coy in the execution of his duty. He was ordered to pay £75 compensation, £85 costs and a £45 victim surcharge.Dean Peterson, 37, of Bristol Road, west Hull, was fined £400 for assaulting three people by beating them and criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £412 compensation, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
