Our daily blog with the latest news, transfer rumours and gossip about Hull City in the Premier League.Hull City defender Aimson reveals is on the mend HULL City youth defender Will Aimson has revealed surgery on his broken leg has been a success. The 20-year-old suffered the injury on Saturday when he was stretchered off in the 21st minute during Tranmere's 3-1 win over Portsmouth. Reports suggested it could have been a double leg break, but Aimson, who will head back to the KC Stadium for his rehabilitation, took to Twitter to give fans and well-wishers an update this morning.

Everton's Atsu could face Tigers

ONE player who could be making a nuisance of himself against the Tigers on Wednesday is Christian Atsu. The winger is on loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea, and the Daily Express have revealed the Ghanaian international's parent club is furious at the lack of first-team opportunities their young prodigy has received.

Atsu has played just 70 minutes of Premier League football for Roberto Martinez's side and the London club have threatened to recall the player and send him out on loan to Sunderland, if his prospects don't improve on Merseyside.

Toffees keeper Howard issues rallying cry for City match

IT'S a swift return to action for the Tigers, and their task of putting an end to their poor run doesn't get any easier, as they visit Goodison Park to face Everton on Wednesday. The Toffees suffered a 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane on Sunday – the same scoreline that saw Tottenham beat Steve Bruce's side just a week earlier– and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates ahead of the midweek fixture. Speaking to talkSport, The American keeper said: "We were expected to win I think, so we're disappointed from our point of view. "Spurs are a good team, there's no question how talented they are going forward, we tried to expose them a little bit but we just didn't do that enough. "But we're not a team, and our manager isn't a manager, who dwells on results, we're just looking forward to the Hull game now.

"We're at home, it'll be an opportunity for us to get three points and we are confident we can do that, so we go again."

Manchester United goalscorers in Crooks' team of the week

AS SURE as night follows day, Garth Crooks' tediously predictable 'Team of the Week' has popped up on the BBC website after another weekend of Premier League action. Tradition dictates that if you're a goal-scoring defender you're a shoe in for this hand-picked XI and sure enough this week's team contains Chris Smalling, who opened the scoring for Manchester United against Hull City at the weekend. The centre-back was picked ahead of any of the Sunderland back four, who performed heroics to keep out league leaders Chelsea, but Crooks was impressed by Smalling, adding: "He's doesn't score many goals, and certainly not with his feet. "The justification for goalline technology was demonstrated once again as Smalling's strike just about squeezed past the despairing Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor. "With one goal under his belt, the centre-back went searching for another after some excellent work by Juan Mata. It is always the same with defenders, they score one goal and develop the taste for more." Others might suggest it was a pretty routine day's work for Smalling and co., as the Tigers meekly surrendered at Old Trafford.
