FIREFIGHTERS have been praised for their efforts in putting out a fire at Willerby Holiday Homes in Hedon Road, east Hull, before it spread through the production line.
Four fire engines were called to the site at 3.15pm today (Saturday).
Steve Duffield, station manager at Humberside Fire and Rescue, said: "The fire crews worked extremely hard to prevent it spreading throughout the factory.
"The fire, damage-wise, is relatively small in comparison to the size of the property."
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service received a call after a sprinkler was activated in one of the units on site.
Workers had already finished their shift, but security and maintenance staff had to be evacuated from the building.
Mr Duffield said: "The building is of an open-plan design and the fire crews have done a fantastic job identifying where the blaze was with the heat and smoke – visibility will have been very poor.
"There were no injuries sustained."
No one from Willerby Holiday Homes was available to comment about the blaze this afternoon. However, a member of staff confirmed everyone was safe.
Hedon Road remained open throughout the fire.
