Premier League release figures for agents fees

The Premier League has released its official figures for the amount of money spent on agents' fees over the past year, and the list makes for interesting reading. In all, £115m was spent by top-flight clubs in the 12 months leading up to September 2014, a new record.

Only Crystal Palace and recently promoted Leicester and Burnley spent less than Hull City's £2,459,010. When taking into account the Tigers' considerable spending in recent transfer windows, that figure may come as a surprise to some fans.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea spent the most, with the Blues laying out a whopping £16,771,328 on agents' fees. Liverpool were second on the list, with Tottenham third.

The full list:

Arsenal - £4,293,407
Aston Villa - £2,577,866
Burnley - £711,024
Chelsea - £16,771,328
Crystal Palace - £2,200,797
Everton - £5,753,269
Hull City - £2,459,010
Leicester City - £1,608,418
Liverpool - £14,308,444
Manchester City - £12,811,946
Manchester United - £7,975,556
Newcastle United - £3,876,250
Queens Park Rangers - £3,242,668
Southampton - £2,766,444
Stoke City - £3,986,850
Sunderland - £5,276,674
Swansea City - £3,784,090
Tottenham Hotspur - £10,983,011
West Bromwich Albion - £3,493,745
West Ham United - £6,380,339

Ince still has role to play at Forest

Tom Ince still has a role to play at Nottingham Forest, according to boss Stuart Pearce. The 22-year-old Hull City winger, who is on loan at the City Ground, has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth and has found himself on the bench in recent weeks.

But Pearce still feels Ince can contribute.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, he said: "The team has done particularly well and Tom finds himself on the outside of it. Our mentality from the outset was that we have no doubt that Tom will contribute during the period that he is here.

"He will benefit from the experience of coming to the club. We have him until the end of December and, during that time, he will play plenty of games."

Forest travel to Birmingham City today looking for a third straight win and Ince will be hoping for a recall.

Pearce added: "We have been pleased with Tom, he gives us an option in that wide area.

"He was not just brought in for one or two games, he was brought here for ten matches.

"We needed somebody to give us an option going forward and he certainly does that.

"We know what he is like as a lad and he has had two games with the England under-21 side. That will help him, when it comes to getting more football. We are pleased with him."

Oxley keen on Hibs stay

Goalkeeper Mark Oxley admits he would be open to making a permanent switch to Hibernian. The City man has been on loan at Easter Road since the start of the season and has enjoyed an extended run in the side. He even scored against Livingston back in August.

Speaking to The Scotsman, he said: "We will need to wait until January and see what happens but Hibs are a great club, the staff are great, and the lads are brilliant. I would be happy to stay longer.

"I am at the stage where I need to be playing every week. I have been on the bench at Hull when I was younger and I just don't want to be doing that
anymore.

"I want to make a career for myself and I would be happy to stay here if that is the best option for me to be playing regularly."

Hibs travel to Alloa for a Scottish Cup fourth-round tie this afternoon.

Evans backing Blackburn to emulate Tigers

Former City man Corry Evans knows exactly what it takes to secure promotion to the Premier League. The Northern Ireland international helped the Tigers out of the Championship in 2012 and he is hoping to repeat the feat with current club Blackburn this season.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, he said: "I think we're probably more attacking than the Hull team I played in.

"We used to play five at the back and when we used to get a lead we would see it out and win our games that way.

"But whereas here we've got Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes up front, who are two of the best goalscorers in this league.

"We know if we're not really playing that well they can come up with the goods and help us out."
