Hull
HULL CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The big Christmas lights switch-on will take place in Hull city centre on Thursday, November 27. The festivities will get under way at 5pm in Queen Victoria Square. For the first time since 2010, there will also be a fireworks display.
Fireworks will be let off at 6.40pm, before the switch-on at 6.45pm.
Entertainment will come from Leroy Vickers, Nineties Boy, Emily Drury, Bobby Diamond and the Opera Guys. The Lord Mayor of Hull, Mary Glew, will be joined by characters from the film Frozen to switch on the lights.
Santa's grotto, complete with live reindeer, will be open in King Edward Street from 5pm, and Hull Pie will be selling pie and mash to keep visitors warm throughout the event.VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS: The High Street, Museums Quarter and Scale Lane will step back to the Victorian era on Saturday, November 29. The family event will include an ice rink, an opening ceremony, Victorian characters, horse and carriage rides and traditional market stalls.
There will be free children's craft activities, a Punch & Judy show and a Santa's grotto. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own hand-made decorations to hang on Victoria and Albert's tree. Souvenirs will be handed out to the first 50 members to arrive in Victorian dress.
The winners of a fancy dress competition will receive tickets to the Aladdin pantomime at Hull New Theatre.
A vintage bus will transport passengers from Hull Interchange to the event throughout the day. The first bus will leave at 9.45am.
ST GILES CHURCH FAIR: St Giles Church, in Church Lane, off Marfleet Lane, east Hull, will hold a Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 29, from noon to 2pm. There will be cake, bric-a-brac and toys stalls, a tombola and refreshments. All money raised will go to church funds.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: A youth orchestra will provide City Hall with a Christmas performance to remember next month. City of Hull Youth Symphony Orchestra will play to an expected large audience on Tuesday, December 9.
The ensemble will perform alongside some of the city's other musical groups, including the City of Hull Youth Brass Band, City of Hull Youth Symphonic Wind Band and City of Hull Youth Choir. The audience will be treated to a wide range of music, with season pieces including Winter Wonderland, The Christmas Song and Sleigh Ride.

Beverley
BEVERLEY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Beverley's annual lights switch-on will be on Sunday, November 30.
Events start at 3pm with a school choir in Wednesday Market, where the lights on a tree will be switched on at 3.30pm.
The attention will then move to Saturday market, where entertainment will culminate in the lights being switched on at 4.20pm. There will also be a Christmas movie, an ice rink, a Santa's grotto and local bands and singers.
Brough
POLICE BAND: The Humberside Police Band are performing a Christmas concert at the Brough Methodist Church in Welton Road on Saturday, December 13. The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6, which includes refreshments. For more information, call 01482 666322 or 01482 668438.
Driffield
DRIFFIELD CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Driffield will be holding its annual switch-on on Thursday, December 4, in the Market Place. The lights will be turned on at 6pm, with entertainment and a Yuletide Fair from 5pm.
Goole
GOOLE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Goole will switch on its Christmas lights on Friday, November 28. The event starts at 5.30pm and will take place in the pedestrianised area of town. There will be musicians, singers, market stalls and fairground rides.
There will be late-night shopping and Father Christmas will also make an appearance.
Hessle
HESSLE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Hessle's annual Christmas lights switch-on will take place in the Square on Friday, November 28. The event starts at 5.30pm with the switch-on at 6.30pm.
Nancy Birtwhistle, winner of the Great British Bake Off, and plays from Hull FC and Hull Stingrays will be at the event, and Father Christmas will give out sweets to the kids.
Hessle High School and Penshurst School will be providing entertainment and there will be choirs, dance groups and bands.
After the event, Hessle Theatre Group will be holding a 'West End Winter Wonderland' at Hessle Town Hall, featuring West End showstoppers and classic Christmas songs. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 concessions and are available from the Cake Room, Hessle Square.
Hedon
HEDON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The Mayor of Hedon will be turning on the town's Christmas lights on Friday, November 28, with the big switch-on at 6.30pm.
There will be children's rides, a Santa's grotto and sleigh, stalls, the Army Cadet Force band, hot food and reindeer. KCFM will help host the event.
Hornsea
HORNSEA CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The Christmas lights will be switched on in Newbegin, Hornsea, on Friday, November 28. The event is expected to be bigger than ever, with about £6,000 being spent on the festivities.
Market Weighton
MARKET WEIGHTON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Market Weighton's Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Thursday, December 4. The main lights in the town centre will be switched on at 4.30pm, with the Christmas tree lights being turned on at 6pm.
There will be carol-singing around the tree, Christmas stalls and all the usual festivities.
Swanland
FATHER CHRISTMAS ACROSS THE POND: Swanland will be holding a 'Father Christmas Across the Pond' event on Monday, December 22. The event gets under way at 6.45pm and promises plenty of family fun.
Children will be able to wave to Father Christmas as he is rowed across the pond by his elves. There will also be roundabouts, stalls, stands, refreshments and carol-singing.
Members of the Swanland parish council will be collecting on the night and it is hoped that the total raised last year will be bettered. Proceeds will go to Dove House Hospice and Godfrey Robinson home in North Ferriby.
Withernsea
WITHERNSEA CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The Withernsea switch-on will take place along Queen Street on Friday November 28. There will be a street collection on the night and Father Christmas will be in attendance, along with his elves.
A Remembrance Tree Service is also being held on Friday December 5 at 7pm. The service will take place outside the Municipal Building in Withernsea.
