SCORES of excited teenage girls welcomed Towie glamour to Beverley today when the stars of a hit reality television programme opened their own fashion boutique in the town.
Fans of ITV's The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) queued for hours in the rain to meet sisters Sam and Billie Faiers, who have opened a new branch of their fashion boutique Minnies, above the Bolo shop in Toll Gavel.
There were whoops of joy and screams of "We love you!" when they cut the ribbon and declared the store officially open.
Sam and Billie said Beverley was the perfect location for their new business venture in the north as it reminded them of their home in Brentwood, Essex.
Sam said: "It is a really lovely town.
"We haven't had a chance to see all of it but just driving in, we saw how pretty it is.
"Brentwood is quite a quaint little town so it is really similar to Beverley."
CUTTING THE RIBBON: Sam and Billie Faiers.
Minnies@Bolo was born after Bolo's owners, brothers Steve and Paul Wicks, were introduced to the sisters by Paul's wife Lesley, a make-up artist and beauty therapist to the stars. Minnies, which first opened in Brentwood in Spring 2011, offers shoppers brands like Rare, Vero Moda and Dead Lovers. The boutique is often featured in the Towie. Billie said: "We have got lots of different styles coming up to the Christmas season, lots more dresses, a bit of nightwear and accessories but on the whole, we are more casual than full on glitz and glamour." Minnies@Bolo launched a VIP competition, which gave lucky fans the chance to be first inside the store and to meet Sam and Billie. Among the winners was Megan Hood, 17, who after going through a Crohn's disease scare told Sam she was her inspiration. Sam has Crohn's disease and recently went public to raise more awareness of the condition. Megan said: "I told her she was my inspiration when I was going through it, she kept me going and made me realise if I did have it, it wouldn't be the end of the world. "I am so excited, I love the clothes and I have written a letter, which I am going to give to Sam as I don't know what to say!"
