BURNLEY are ready to launch a £1.3m January transfer bid for Hull City's Paul McShane. The Republic of Ireland international is out of contract in the summer, and, according to the Daily Star, Clarets manager Sean Dyche is poised to make a cash offer in the transfer window. McShane is the Tigers' longest serving player, having arrived in August 2008, initially on loan. He is being offered fresh terms by City, and the defender told the Mail last week he is willing to stay and fight for his place at the KC Stadium. However, if a deal can't be struck, then the Star reckon that relegation-haunted Burnley, where former Tiger George Boyd has found a new lease of life, are ready to make a move.Tigers turn back to Austin? CHARLIE Austin's goalscoring exploits this season, six in ten, could land him a bumper pay rise – to stave off interest from Hull City in January. According to the Star, the QPR hotshot currently earns £48,000 a week. Although he is contracted to the Loftus Road club for another two years, QPR are keen to extend his current deal and offer more money to keep a posse of Premier League rivals at bay. Potential suitors for the striker, who has scored 168 goals in 276 appearances for six different clubs, include the Tigers, Spurs, Newcastle and Sunderland. City's interest in Austin would appear unlikely, given an aborted transfer attempt in July 2013. A £4.5m fee was agreed with Austin's then club Burnley, only for the deal to fall apart when a stringent medical unearthed problems with a knee injury.Ince in bad company So Tom Ince, still a shrewd bit of business by Steve Bruce or one to forget? Well according to one report he's among the Premier League's most disappointing signings of the season, ranking alongside Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli. There's no doubt Ince, a summer signing from Blackpool after being linked with a host of high-profile clubs, has failed to spark in Bruce's squad culminating in a loan move to Nottingham Forest. The givemesport.com website says Ince has been overshadowed by other talent in the City team but says it looks like a golden opportunity missed by player and club. "Ince was at his best in the Championship when he ran at defenders," it says. "He was a player who made things happen. At Hull, however, he looks like a player deprived of confidence. Hull's recent performances have been ordinary at best; Ince will never have a better chance to stand out." Ince is named along with Balotelli, described as "a disaster" at Liverpool, Federico Fazio at Spurs and Eliaquim Mangala at Manchester City.Sugar's not sweet to Spurs stars TOTTENHAM'S flops will travel to the KC Stadium on Sunday – after being told to "buck their ideas up" by Lord Sugar. The former club chairman turned Apprentice guru reckons boss Mauricio Pochettino should say "you're fired" to his under-achieving superstars. Struggling Spurs are 12th and were booed off the pitch at White Hart Lane after going down to defeat against Stoke. Never one to mince his words, Sugar told the Daily Star: "Many of these foreign players that were brought in see the Premier League as the land of milk and honey. "Pochettino has got to have a very, very stern talk to those guys because they are the ones letting everybody down – including him. "It's disgusting the way some of them have been playing. "I'm no football expert but I have been watching the team for God knows how many years and you can see from the body language. "A couple of guys work their hearts out and the rest of them, I don't know what they think they are doing. "They need to be read the riot act by the manager." Can't you just hear those Spurs stars parroting "Yes, Lord Sugar" in Apprentice wannabe fashion? Nope, neither can we.Tiger Aluko caught up in Congo crowd trouble HULL City striker Sone Aluko has taken to twitter to describe the chaotic scenes after his Nigeria beat Congo 2-0. Goals from Villareal striker Ikechukwu Uche and China-based Aaron Samuel revived the Super Eagles' hopes of qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. They now head into a clash with South Africa on Wednesday. However, Aluko described the scenes at Pointe Noire, Congo. "Fantastic result winning 2-0 in Congo," the second-half substitute tweeted. "Unbelievable conditions and situations to overcome! Showed strong character "Never seen a stadium empty so fast. Bottles, stones, flares and tear-gas all came onto the pitch! Madness. We really spoilt the party!! Amazing atmosphere though. Tear-gas aside I loved every second. They were hurt. Nothing like winning! Bring on another battle Wednesday."
