Reader Rob Leeming from Hull writes: What is it with the current beef between Hull FC and the Stadium Management Company?
As a Hull fan of 40+ years, I was informed by fellow supporters that the SMC were due to announce plans to move away supporters from the North Stand into other areas, which are currently occupied by FC fans.
This, I believe, has been done once again without any sort of consultation with Hull fans, behind our backs and it's us who have to change our preferred seats to accommodate the SMC's desires.
The KC Stadium generates a perfectly good atmosphere as it is right now, and traditionally away supporters in rugby league are placed behind one of the goal-posts – that's the way it should always be.
I'm a West Stand pass-holder so fortunately I won't be affected, but I can imagine the thousands of people situated in the East Stand opposite myself will not be happy.
Some of my friends have had tickets in the East Stand for 13 years now and if they have to move their seats to let away fans now sit there, they won't be happy and rightly so.
This comes on the back of the Hull FC fans forum being moved from the stadium to Walton Street Club. Have relations become strained again?
Why can't we use our own stadium to hold our forum?
It's time Adam Pearson stands up to the SMC once and for all and try to fight his corner and that of the fans.
2015 looks like a clean slate for Hull and I hope with the new signings we have made, that we have a change in fortunes and clinch a place in the top eight that we narrowly missed out on this time around.
However, I'm not holding my breath at the SMC changing their minds.
Gareth Westmorland replies: From what I can gather Rob, this is a storm in a teacup.
I've done some digging on the matter, having seen several tweets from disgruntled Hull fans who are quite rightly outraged at some of the rumours knocking around.
I can put your mind to rest and say that the movement of fans is simply not happening and the North Stand will be open as usual for away supporters.
It appears there may have been conversations between Pearson and the SMC on the issue, with Pearson siding with the FC fans and rightly so. Hull fans, and away supporters, will be in their desired seats next season, guaranteed.
On the fans forum, the SMC were going to charge the club to hire the KC for the evening, so it's a no-brainer to see Hull move the event to a local social club free of charge.
If I'm honest, it'll probably be better beer prices and a much better atmosphere, so get yourself down there on Tuesday night and catch up on your RL gossip.
