Hull City boss Steve Bruce is ready to sanction Tom Ince's proposed loan move to Nottingham Forest in a bid to get the winger's faltering season back on track.
Forest have made a move to sign Ince on an initial one-month basis and a deal is expected to be struck with the Championship club in the next 24 hours.
City believe a temporary challenge in the East Midlands can re-ignite Ince's season after falling out of favour at the KC Stadium.
Since starting the first three Premier League fixtures of the season, the 22-year-old has failed to even make the substitutes bench in the last six games.
The summer signing from Blackpool could return to action in Forest's away game at Huddersfield on Saturday if the loan is signed off and Bruce admitted it was under consideration.
"I will let people out on loan if I think it's going to help them and Tom is one of those players," Bruce told the Mail.
"Tom understands the situation. He had a good pre-season and a good start with us so he can feel a little bit disappointed. I've been very pleased with him because he's a very good young player.
"He's another one who needs to play games but it doesn't mean it's the end of it, I've said that repeatedly.
"Without the level of competition we'd like at under-21s level and without opportunities in the cup competitions, I'm not opposed to letting some of our players go out to play regular games.
"We've gone out of Europe and we've gone out of the League Cup and that's taken away the opportunity for a lot of lads to play."
City, who will see Ince's summer transfer fee set by tribunal in the coming weeks after failing to reach an agreement with his former club Blackpool, have not been against letting players out on loan. In recent weeks Yannick Sagbo has joined Wolves, while Maynor Figueroa has returned to former club Wigan.
A move to the City Ground would see Ince reunited with his former England under-21s boss Stuart Pearce and join a promotion-chasing side in need of a lift after seven games without a win.
Ince knows his chances will remain scarce with the Tigers for now after watching the weekend's 0-0 draw from Anfield from the directors' box and Bruce admits he can understand any frustrations.
"I'd be disappointed if his face wasn't tripping him up when we're going to Anfield and he's not involved. I'd be far more worried if he was happy with the situation.
"As a footballer you want to play on a Saturday and Tom is no different, but if we're going to progress we need the strength of squad that I've got. And that's the reason we got a point at Liverpool.
"If we'd have taken five or six of our best players out of our team last season, I know what the outcome would have been."
