Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle ready to wow a raucous Hull Arena crowd

LUKE Campbell and Tommy Coyle have both declared themselves ready for their toughest tests yet ahead of their ring return on Saturday evening.

Olympic champion Campbell makes his ninth professional appearance when facing Daniel Eduardo Brizuela for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental lightweight title.

Brizuela was finally conquered by Tommy Coyle in the fight of the year in Hull back in February, and Coyle looks set for another similar battle when he squares up to former world champion Michael Katsidis for the Hull boxer's IBF International lightweight belt.

Ready for the step up in class, Campbell says he's made sure he's in the best shape yet for what he hopes will be an emphatic win against the Argentinian in his home town.

"I've trained harder than ever and I'm in the best shape I've ever been in," Campbell told the Mail.

"I know he's a good opponent and he showed everyone in his fight with Tommy Coyle that he can be pretty dangerous, but this will be a different fight.

"It's going to be another great night in Hull and I'm sure we will give all the great fans in the city another great night."

While Campbell is rightly confident about his chances of victory, Coyle knows it will take his best performance yet to come out the victor against a boxer of Katsidis' quality.

The Australian is renowned for his explosive punching power, with Coyle expecting another physical battle.

But after climbing off the canvas four times against Brizuela earlier this year with the support of a deafening home crowd behind him, the 25-year-old says he knows the local following will spur him on once again.

"The atmosphere and the crowd got me through the fight against Brizuela and I know it's going to be another special night on Saturday," Coyle told the Mail.

"There's not a ticket to be had and I know it is going to be a memorable night. I'm very excited now and I'm really looking forward to the challenge. I know I have to be at my very best to beat Katsidis.

"I've had a fantastic camp, got my weight down early and instead of being focused on getting the weight off I've worked on what I need to do to win this fight."

Provisional schedule

THE provisional schedule for Saturday's Hull Arena sellout has Luke Campbell's fight with Daniel Brizuela topping the show, with co-headliner, Tommy Coyle facing Michael Katsidis in the other main event.

Gavin McDonnell's title fight and featherweight Samir Mouneimne complete the TV billing, to be aired on Sky Sports.

Liverpool's Robbie Davies Jnr will also be in action on the night.

The rest of the card is dominated by local boxers, with Tom Knight facing Gary Cooper, Charlie Payton boxing Ibrar Riyaz, Connor Seymour versus Dee Mitchell and Nathon Smith against Driffield's Danny Little.
