A DRUG dealer declared himself a "genius" when he was caught with more than £1,000-worth of amphetamines.
Alexander Hill, 34, was jailed for a year after admitting possession of the class B drugs with intent to supply.
He was caught when police officers raided the house he shared with his ex-partner and her two children, aged nine and 11, in Elloughton Grove, Hull.
They found 133grams of amphetamines strewn around the living room, which would have had a street value of £1,500, along with "dealer sheets" and drug dealing paraphernalia.
They also found a small amount of cannabis resin.
Prosecuting, Deborah Smithies told Hull Crown Court: "Upon entry the police found the defendant and his girlfriend sitting in the living room and it was from that room the drugs were seized.
"When Hill was arrested he told officers "It's all mine, it's got f*** all to do with her".
"In his interview he told police he was a genius who could make his own cutting agent."
Officers found two cellophane wraps of mixed amphetamine, caffeine and dextrose (glucose). Together they weighed 3.04 grams.
There were four plastic bags on the living room floor, filled with an "off-white paste", which was later identified to be an amphetamine, caffeine, dextrose mix, weighing 57 grams.
Three bags hidden between slots in the living room chair, again containing a "damp substance" that was also amphetamine, caffeine and dextrose mix and weighing 73 grams, were found.
Officers also seized dealer lists of customer names, small plastic bags and a mobile phone containing a string of text messages setting up a drug deal.
The court heard how Hill, who has already served a year in jail for drug dealing in 2010, was addicted to amphetamines himself and was dealing to fund his own habit.
In mitigation, Paul Genney said his client's relationship had broken down after he was arrested.
"He has hopes he will live with his brother in Thornton Street, Hull, when he is released," he said.
"There is no prospect of any reconciliation with his girlfriend, he has not heard from her at all for a long time and he accepts the relationship is at an end, primarily due to this offence.
"He pleaded guilty at the very earliest stage seeking to defend his girlfriend, who in fairness, had nothing to do with this and is now getting on with her life."
Sentencing Hill to a year in jail, with three months concurrent for possession of cannabis and one month concurrent for failing to surrender to bail, Recorder David Osborne said Hill had played a "significant role" in a drug dealing operation.
He said: "It is unpleasant the drugs were lying around in the living room being shared by those two children living in the property.
"You made an immediate admission they were entirely yours and in interview you admitted possession of the drugs.
"You had a significant role in this operation having made financial gain from it."
