One man was arrested and another was taken to hospital after a group of "drunk witches" were found causing trouble in the street. A cyclist saw a man wearing a witch's hat in Pearson Park, west Hull, at 6.30am, and an hour later a jogger reported seeing a group dressed as witches drinking cans of Polish lager in the park near the pond. The jogger, who asked not to be identified, then saw the witches being dispersed by police, and one arrested, in nearby Princes Avenue at 9.30am. He said: "I saw a load of witches in the park – pointed hats, capes, the lot. Very odd. "They were sitting on benches around the pond drinking Polish lager, and they appeared to be drunk. "About two hours later when I was going to get my hair cut I saw them being arrested in Princes Avenue. "I got my phone out to take a picture but a policeman wagged his finger at me, so I photographed the hat on the ground." A spokesman for Humberside Police said officers were called after a group of four males and one female were reported to be "very drunk" in Princes Avenue. They had also made threats against staff at the Sainsbury's store. The spokesman declined to confirm that the group were dressed as witches, but said: "One male was taken to hospital due to intoxication. "Two were given Section 27 (dispersal) orders. "One 26-year-old man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and remains in police custody after he was seen kicking cars."
