Ahmed Elmohamady is expected to maintain an 18-month run in the Hull City side at Arsenal tomorrow after making a full recovery from a back injury.

Elmohamady suffered a back spasm in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace 12 days ago, a complaint that ruled the wing-back out of international duty with Egypt.

The injury threatened to end a run of 63 consecutive league starts for Steve Bruce's side, a sequence dating back to February 2013, but the club's medical team are optimistic Elmohamdy will be ready to face the Gunners.

The 27-year-old was able to take part in a light training session on Tuesday following a period of rest and resumed full training yesterday as Bruce started planning for tomorrow's trip to the Emirates.

As the one constant in Bruce's reign, Elmohamdy's fitness boost will be welcomed by the City boss.

Since arriving at the KC Stadium at the start of the 2012-13 season, initially on loan from Sunderland, the Egyptian has missed just two of City's 88 league games during a climb out of the Championship and into the Premier League. In all competitions, he is already just seven appearances shy of a rapid century.

Elmohamady has been key to City's success in a 3-5-2 formation but Bruce still has decisions to make elsewhere before finalising plans for the weekend.

The majority of his international stars only reported back to training yesterday and the fitness of all those who have been away is to be assessed before travelling to the capital.

The biggest question mark will hang over in-form midfielder Mohamed Diame.

The former West Ham man, who has scored three goals in his first four games for the Tigers, played 87 minutes of Senegal's 1-0 defeat to Tunisia in their African Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday night.

Diame travelled back to England yesterday but is only due to meet up with the City squad once they arrive at their London base this afternoon.

Those travelling demands will be taken into account as Bruce selects his XI but given Diame's importance and the fact there are just four games before the next international break, the City boss may well opt to gamble.

Sone Aluko will be in a similar position having been with Nigeria for their qualifier with Sudan in Abuja but, unlike Diame, he has not featured in City's last two Premier League games.

Elsewhere, Allan McGregor has been back on the training pitch to participate in light training sessions this week but will not be considered to face either Arsenal or Liverpool in the next 10 days.

City are keen to see a shoulder injury that has plagued the Scot resolved once and for all.
