Hull North MP Diana Johnson has called on the Government to reveal whether ebola screening is planned at Hull docks.
Speaking today in Business Questions at the House of Commons, the politician called for a parliamentary debate on the issue.
Travellers arriving at Heathrow and Gatwick airports and Eurostar rail terminals are already being screened.
Hull firm Arco is supplying 100,000 protective suits a month to British soldiers and aid workers battling the disease in Sierra Leone.
In a question to commons leader William Hague, Ms Johnson said: "The Health Secretary made a statement on Monday about Ebola and the targeted screening at Heathrow, Gatwick and Eurostar.
"However, he didn't refer to ports like Hull – busy entry points and also targets for illegal immigration – and I wonder whether it would be possible to have a debate on what more needs to be done to protect all our points of entry."
Dozens of ships a week dock at the city port, almost all from Europe rather than epidemic-hit areas.
P&O also operates two services for passengers to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge, Belgium.
Dock operator Associated British Ports is referring press queries on ebola to the Government.
Civil service officials have yet to respond to a request for comment.
