Police are warning motorists to take care on the A1174 Hull to Beverley road after reports of a large diesel spill.
Humberside Police said the fuel spill stretched from Dunswell as far as Molescroft and appeared to have been caused by a moving vehicle.
The police command centre warned: "It has made the road surface very slippery. Please exercise caution if using these routes." Update, 9.35am: Police now say the spill stretches from Beverley Road in Hull as far as Scorborough near Leconfield, on the A164.
