Olympic rowing legend Sir Steve Redgrave paid a visit to East Yorkshire this morning.
Sir Steve, the first Briton to win five Olympic gold medals, visited children at Burlington Junior School in Bridlington, to present a national sporting award to pupil Elliot Hatton.
The talented 10-year-old cricketer has been named Outstanding Young Person of the Year by Sporting Promise, an initiative that helps schools deliver high-quality physical education.
Elliot, who plays for Sewerby Cricket Club and represented Yorkshire under 10s this summer, impressed his coaches with his mature batting performances.
Sir Steve said: "Elliot is a great individual, he is very skilled at a sport he simply loves. It is fantastic to be here today."
As part of his visit, Sir Steve joined in a sports festival with 80 children.
The Sporting Promise initiative is a partnership between Sporting Pro, Matalan and the Youth Sport Trust. For further information, visit the Sporting Promise website.
