An exotic list of South African animals is on the menu of a Newland Avenue takeaway in west Hull.
Lewis Banyard, the owner of health food shop Bulk Garage Nutrition (BGN), has opened up a new store with a difference – it doubles as a takeaway.
And rather than having beef and chicken on its menu, the new takeaway, also called BGN, will include llama, zebra, elk and more.
It will also sell the meat raw for people to cook at home.
Lewis's dad Ray Kemp, 70, who helps run the store with his son, said: "They are all very high in protein and low in fat, which is why we sell them.
"We are here for all the people who want to look after themselves.
"We have people coming from all over the region because there is nowhere else like us and people can't buy it anywhere else.
"Others are unsure at first, especially about the horse and zebra, but we want them to give us a try."
A tasting session will be held on Saturday, October 18, from noon to 3pm for potential buyers to try before they buy.
