COACH Omar Pacha today revealed he has held individual meetings with his players in the wake of Hull Stingrays' third-period collapse against Dundee Stars.
Stingrays had dominated the first 40 minutes, only to lose 5-2 after their visitors cashed in on crucial errors with three unanswered, last-period goals.
It leaves the Rapid Solicitors Stingrays still searching for their first home point of the season after five games, although they have picked up five out of six away from home.
Stingrays head to Sheffield tonight to continue their quest to escape Group B and reach the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
"We have had a good practice and had a good meeting," Pacha explained.
"I have met everyone individually just to explain what everyone's role is and maybe that they have to calm down and take a step back and maybe not go on the offence so much, concentrate on defence and good things will come."
So far this season, the rookie coach and his revamped Stingrays have taken their fans on a rollercoaster ride.
A stunning 6-1 victory over Nottingham Panthers sent shock waves round the Elite League, but home stumbles against Edinburgh, Braehead and Dundee have meant there is plenty to work on.
"We dominated against Dundee and did a lot of good things, but those three or four minutes we were sleeping and it cost us," said Pacha.
"I've told the guys every single game we have had a chance to win, but we make a few mistakes, but those mistakes are correctable.
"We're not playing badly, but we are making some mistakes that unfortunately as a rookie team and a rookie coach it happens.
"We are learning from it, but we have to learn very quickly."
Forward Zach Hervato will miss tonight's clash in Sheffield after picking up an injury on his break-away chance against Dundee.
He could also miss Saturday's visit to Cardiff and Sunday's return game with the Steelers at Hull Arena.
Dominic Osman is expected to switch back up front after filling in on defence, with Scott Robson, on a two-way deal with Peterborough, returning to Stingrays' blue-line line-up.
Hervato will definitely be back for Stingrays' home game with Edinburgh on October 18, and could be joined by Pacha, providing he has recovered sufficiently from his fractured arm.
