A HULL man has described his delight after appearing on a popular television programme with his beloved scooter.
Stephen Smith, of Ganstead Lane, featured in the Channel 5 prime-time programme Storage: Flog The Lot! after purchasing a vintage 1965 LI 150 special Italian Lambretta scooter online.
The episode aired on Channel 5 on Friday evening.
Mr Smith said: "I had a scooter when I was 16 and I absolutely loved it.
"I still remember it to this day and I am 60 now.
"I was looking on the internet and found the scooter of my dreams.
"I made a deal with a guy in Leicester who owned it, to buy it from him.
"I asked him if he would deliver the scooter to me in Hull and he told me he would on the basis that I agreed to be filmed on television."
Mr Smith agreed to be filmed for the programme, which captures all the excitement and drama of auction rooms as it pits professional dealers bidding against each other for a series of mystery items.
The show then follows the winning bidders as they try to turn a profit by selling the items on.

The 60-year-old now regularly rides the scooter to Beverley for days out.
He said: "I love riding it – it takes me back to the days of being 16 again.
"Scooters are becoming increasingly popular these days and I feel lucky to have the one I have got."
The scooter has also become a talking point for Mr Smith's work colleagues at Fenner Dunlop in Marfleet Lane.
He said: "People often stare at the scooter in amazement.
"It is a talking point with the lads at work."
