OLYMPIC boxer Luke Campbell has landed a £60,000 sponsorship deal with one of Britain's most iconic brands.
The boxer-turned-ice skater has become the first star to be offered a deal with Land Rover since golfer Lee Westwood in 1994.
Its Hull branch, Hatfields, in Livingstone Road, is supporting the star, who shot to fame in the summer securing boxing gold in London 2012.
Since clinching the gold medal, Luke, 25, says his life has changed dramatically.
He is currently one of the stars of ITVs Dancing On Ice, where he wowed the audience with his first performance on Sunday.
Luke, who is attracting national attention following his Olympic victory and his newfound fame with Dancing On Ice fans, said: "The team here has put together a sponsorship package for me because I am up and down the country for Dancing On Ice and driving to training all over.
"Hatfields is a local company and it is great to be able to get behind it.
"It is great what they have done for me.
"I want to get behind local businesses in Hull and try to promote them as much as possible.
"With the Olympics and now Dancing On Ice, I am getting more well-known nationally and that means I can give businesses in Hull some promotion nationally."
The bantamweight boxer is currently training six days a week on the ice, as well as having to fit in his day job of boxing.
"It's tough," he said. "I'm training full days and then, on top of that, I have my boxing.
"I box where I can, sometimes I'm at St Paul's if I'm in Hull and other times, in London."
And while he is enjoying his ice commitments, he has one eye on his boxing future.
He said: "I have to make a decision as to whether I want to go for that second Olympic Gold or if I want to turn professional and have a go in the pro ranks to be the World Champion.
"I have a lot going on and I am grateful to be in the position I am.
"I've given my life to boxing and everyone who knows me knows the sacrifices I've had to make to get where I am.
"I work hard, and I am one of the lads and that will never change."
Part of the deal for the boxing star is the use of a Land Rover to get him to all his training commitments.
Andy Maddock, general manager at Hatfields, Hull, said: "Luke is the biggest story to come out of Hull for a long time.
"Land Rover has not done this with anyone since 1994, we just don't do it.
"Luke is such a nice lad and, between us and Land Rover, we have made it work.
"We get requests all the time but the fact Luke has an Olympic gold medal puts him at a different level.
"He comes from an amateur sport where the rewards are not as great as for professionals and we wanted to help.
"Luke is in good company with the car – we delivered one to Niall from One Direction last week."
Luke will be skating on Sunday for the second time in ITV's Dancing On Ice.
