FRIENDS of a tragic schoolboy who died after being found near the Humber Bridge say completing a running event in his memory has helped them come to terms with their grief. Hundreds of teenagers gathered to remember their sports fanatic friend Will Shaw at the three-mile East Park Run on Saturday.
Will, 14, who attended Malet Lambert School in east Hull had been spotted on the bridge shortly before he was found by police in a field on Wednesday, September 17. He died from undisclosed injuries in hospital. The shock of the tragedy has hit his friends hard, but they came together through their grief and ran the course.willrun1 It was organised by close friend Jack Bullement, 14, as a way to remember Will, who was described as "funny and friendly" by his many friends. Jack said: "Will used to run here every week so we are running it one last time for him today. I know he would be so proud of us. "It means a lot that everyone is doing this for Will. Everyone has been so supportive. "Will was really into his sports. He was funny all the time and so nice to be around. "Today is about getting all his friends together and looking at something positive." As the investigation into his death continues, Jack hopes the run would help Will's friends come to terms with what has happened. Oliver said: "It has helped us to remember Will and get out our frustration. "He was one of the nicest people you could want to be friends with. He would never say a bad word about anyone.
