HULL KR prop Adam Walker is promising plenty of big hits in his first derby clash with Hull FC this Sunday.

Walker was brought to the Robins by coach Craig Sandercock after impressing with his aggressive style of play.

And the former Huddersfield Giant has no problems with being expected to mix it with Super League's toughest players.

"Hit or be hit," Walker said when asked his approach to the game.

"There promises to be a lot of big hits on show on Sunday and I hope to make a few.

"Craig wants me to be aggressive and I intend to be. I intend to run hard and hit hard every time I play a game."

Walker made his KR debut in Sunday's 32-10 win over Wigan Warriors, showing plenty to suggest he'll be a first team regular this season.

Strong in the tackle and a constant threat in Wigan's side, Walker enjoyed his first taste of action for KR, and feels in peak condition ahead of Sunday's clash at the KC Stadium.

"I enjoyed my first run-out and I thought it went well, but there is still a lot of work for me to do if I want to be considered a first team regular," he admitted.

"This is the fittest I have felt throughout my career though and I want to do as well as I can for Hull KR.

"Making extra metres after the tackle is something I hope to do every time.

"Craig told us to impress him during the friendlies and he'll take things from there.

"If I can do that then I know I'll have a great chance to be picked and I'm confident I can be selected for the opening Super League game against Catalan.

"With this being the last pre-season friendly, I have to put everything into it and leave nothing in the tank. It may be my first taste of the derby but nerves won't get the better of me."
