A senior Hull councillor has pledged to meet people worried about the prospect of having the HMS Illustrious aircraft carrier berthed near their homes.
Residents on Victoria Dock say their estate will not cope if Hull wins the race to secure Illustrious for the 2017 UK City of Culture year.
A possible berth near The Deep is currently the preferred option.
Speaking at a full council meeting, City of Culture portfolio holder Councillor Steven Bayes said: "I can understand the residents' concerns and we have offered to have a meeting with them.
"We would naturally talk to everyone at whatever site is eventually chosen to ensure there is a limited impact on any residents."
A floating temporary berth near The Deep has been identified as a cheaper option than building a new riverside facility.
The idea is to then use the berth for regular visits by passenger cruise ships.
