WHERE to begin for Hull City's trip to Newcastle this afternoon?
Let's start with that infamous head-butt of Alan Pardew on David Meyler.
The City midfielder will accept the under-fire Magpies manager's apology when the pair come face to face for the first time since that incident at the KC Stadium in March.
Apparently, Pardew will seek out the Republic of Ireland international and offer him his hand – rather than his brow – in an effort to make up.
Speaking ahead of the launch of EA Sports' FIFA 15, Meyler said: "It was all forgotten about three minutes after it happened because we were 3-1 down against Newcastle.
"We weren't playing well and I was more disappointed about the result of the game to be thinking about anything else. He's apologised, it's forgotten about and we move on.
"We've just got to make sure we win Saturday and beat him and his side.
"What's the point of me dwelling on it? It's done, it's dusted.
"I come from a big GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) background, I played a lot of hurling and Gaelic football growing up as a kid and you used to get belted as a kid all the time.
"That's just the way it was. I used to live and breathe that. You would go home and your hands would be cut, your legs would be cut.
"I was more annoyed because we lost 4-1. I flew home with my father and we never spoke about it once. We spoke about the game. The incident was nothing. You've got to move on. You can't keep thinking about it."Moyes favourite to replace Pardew, but Bruce isn't far behindDAVID Moyes has emerged as the favourite to take over the reins at Newcastle should the Tigers inflict another defeat on the Toon this afternoon.
With SackPardew.com protests planned, it could all go pear-shaped for Pardew, who is odds-on across the board and a best-priced 8-15 with William Hill to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current position.
Although strongly dismissing speculation yesterday , Steve Bruce is a 5-1 shot with Paddy Power, but former Manchester United failure Moyes is a safer bet at 6-4 favourite.Merson: I have no idea why Allam wants to change name
IT'S been nine days since Assem Allam's press conference update in the ongoing name-change row, but pundits are still questioning the City owners' decision to appeal.Daily Star columist Paul Merson has waded in, believing whilst the name-change is dubious, Allam can 'do what he wants'.
"Why he's (Allam) doing it I have no idea. You can't tell me the Hull Tigers are suddenly going to be a smash hit in the USA," he wrote.
"What are they going to do, start selling out pre-season tours to New York just because they changed their name?
"Whatever his reasons, though, he can do what he wants. He is the owner, after all.
"But I feel sorry for manager Steve Bruce. He gets asked about it every week and it's really nothing to do with him.
"He could do without the distraction because he's doing a good job there. He's got them up and they are in a nice position.
"Names change. I'm not saying it's right, but it's up to the owner and no-one else really. There is nothing Bruce can do about it."
We've all been on a small European tour, how about a Stateside tour?Hernandez had targeted Newcastle
HERE'S one that escaped me. It has emerged City's £10m record-signing Abel Hernandez had his eye on Newcastle United in February – but could he exact revenge on the Toon today?
In an interview seven months ago with TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Hernandez said: "My life has changed, mom and dad helped me a lot.
"The past is gone, now I go to church with Mom.
"I decided to stay (at Palermo), I owe it to Zamparini and the fans. My dream in the future is Newcastle, Real or Atletico."
I bet Mike Ashley is kicking his feet knowing this one slipped away...Barmby misses out on Carlisle job
AND finally, although it was a long shot anyway, Nick Barmby has missed out on returning to management.
The former City legend was linked heavily with the Carlisle United job yesterday, with odds shortening at a rapid pace.
However, Keith Curle was given the job until the end of next season – and in all honesty, he'd been the front-runner throughout.
Curle, 50, made more than 700 appearances for Wimbledon, Manchester City, Wolves and Sheffield United in a 24-year playing career. He won three England caps in 1992.
