Two men have been arrested after armed police swooped on a "fight" in Ella Street, west Hull, on Saturday morning.
Residents told the Mail two men were seen "fighting" and "arguing" before police were called.
They described how around five police vans arrived in the street, off Newland Avenue, at about 10.30am.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "Humberside Police responded to a disturbance in Ella Street.
"Two men have now been arrested and are in police custody, waiting to be questioned."
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: "There were armed police officers everywhere.
"One man was arrested quite quickly but the other one took a bit longer.
"Officers were shouting at him to 'get down now'.
"I have lived here several years and it is such a nice area of Hull."
Another resident said: "There seemed to be a bit of a fight going on between two men.
"The police acted very quickly to be fair to them. Luckily it is all over now."
