A 26-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with drink driving after a car crashed through the wall of an east Hull pub.
The woman, named by police as Kerry Wileman, has been charged after a car smashed into The Holderness pub in Witham on Friday night, injuring a number of people inside.
Ms Wileman has also been charged with assaulting a police officer.
A police spokesman said: "A blue Vauxhall Tigra is believed to have been travelling in the direction of Holderness Road when it collided with railings on the left-hand side of the road before colliding with the public house, causing significant structural damage.
"The driver, 26-year-old Kerry Louise Wileman, sustained a head injury in the incident and received treatment at Hull Royal Infirmary before being arrested.
"She has subsequently been charged with four motoring offences, including driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit and also assault a constable in the execution of their duty."
Miss Wileman will appear at Hull Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 3.
Barry King, 48, was mourning the death of his partner's grandfather Harry Parks inside the pub when the car smashed through the wall.
Mr King's heart stopped beating and his partner Diane Green and pub regular Pete Brown had to perform CPR until paramedics arrived to rush him to Hull Royal Infirmary.
Mr King, of Medina Road, remains in hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
The Holderness Pub in Witham is expected to remain closed for at least four weeks following the crash on Friday night.
Landlord and landlady Dave and Linda Stark have run the east Hull pub for 12 years and were looking forward to a busy August Bank Holiday weekend until disaster struck.
The couple had surveyors inspecting the damage to the building yesterday.
Linda said: "With it being the bank holiday, we couldn't get anyone to come and have a look at the damage until Tuesday.
"We still don't know the whole cost of the damage but we have had people here looking around at what needs to be done.
"We think it's going to be a big job.
"The pub is a listed building, which can only make things worse.
"We will be closed for at least four weeks, if not longer."
