Hull City have confirmed the signing of Michael Dawson from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £3m.
The 30-year-old former England international, who was club captain at Spurs, has signed a three-year deal following a long pursuit by manager Steve Bruce.
He follows brother Andy, who made 317 appearances in a stellar, decade-long career at the club, to the KC Stadium.
Michael Dawson made more than 300 appearances in nine years at Spurs, during which time he played in the Champions League and earned four caps for the national side.
He will wear the number 21 shirt for City.
Dawson told Hull City's official site he was excited to get started.
"I know the club well from the family history with Andy being here," he said.
"The attraction was the whole football club - the manager and the squad of players. Speaking to Tom (Huddlestone) and Jake (Livermore) the only things they say about the club are positive.
"Leaving Tottenham was always going to be hard, but the chance to move to Hull City was a great opportunity.
"We're footballers and we want to play football and that wasn't going to happen at Tottenham. Once the gaffer (Bruce) was in touch with me and gave me the opportunity to come here, it was just right.
"The season Hull had last year was incredible, to get to the final of the FA Cup and secure their Premier League position. Now we've got to build on that.
"I hope to come here and perform as well as I did at Spurs. If I can have half as good a Hull career as my brother, it will be amazing."• A new employee doesn't usually take to soaking the boss on day one, but Dawson's first act as a City player was to do just that when he took part in Ehab Allam's ice bucket challenge.
The vice-chairman was nominated by Steve Bruce, who completed his challenge last week. Now, Allam has nominated the Mail's Hull City writer Philip Buckingham.
