Our daily blog with the latest news, transfer rumours and gossip about Hull City in the Premier League. Today: Harry Maguire, Jordan Rhodes, Luc Castaignos, Federico Fazio and Michael Dawson.Harry Maguire could return to Sheffield United Nigel Clough is keen on a loan deal that would see Harry Maguire return to Sheffield United just weeks after signing for Hull City, the South Yorkshire Times says. Former Mail writer James Shield says any deal for the £2.5m-man would hinge on whether City can qualify for the Europa League group stage by coming from behind to beat Lokeren on Thursday evening. Clough said: "We'd always be open to the prospect of Harry coming back if the chance arose. "It might be interesting to see how things develop with (Michael) Dawson and also, I would imagine, how they do in Europe and also the League Cup." Maguire, who started the first leg tie of the Europa League tie against Lokeren, made 166 appearances for United. Clough added: "We know (City manager) Steve Bruce well. He kicked me enough times when we were both players and get along."Tottenham deal for Federico Fazio will trigger Michael Dawson moveMichael Dawson will be on his way to Hull City, as soon as Tottenham conclude a deal for Sevilla defender Federico Fazio, ESPN says. Spurs are only prepared to release their club captain once they have signed a replacement. And Argentinian international Fazio, 27, is due to arrive at White Hart Lane in an £8m deal this week.Jordan Rhodes to put in transfer requestJordan Rhodes will put in a transfer request to secure a move from Blackburn Rovers to Hull City, The Sun says. As we reported yesterday, Steve Bruce is not ready to give up the chase for top target Rhodes, despite seeing two transfer bids turned down by Rovers, who insist their "icon" is not for sale. The Sun reckons the Scotland striker, 24, is "desperate" to play in the Premier League and is ready to force Blackburn's hand. Up until now, sources have suggested Rhodes is reluctant to take such a step. However, with manager Gary Bowyer understood to be keen on a cash windfall which would help him strengthen his squad, the Tigers remain hopeful a deal can be done. Bowyer returns today from a trip to India to discuss squad-strengthening plans with owners Venky's. And according to the Lancashire Telegraph, Rovers' stance over Rhodes remains that he is not for sale. Rhodes was yesterday left out of the Scotland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier away to Germany on September 7.Could Hull City turn to Luc Castaignos? Meanwhile, Hull City have emerged as surprise contenders for the signature of £6.5m-rated FC Twente striker Luc Castaignos, according to Sport In A Storm.com. The 21-year-old, who has scored 28 times in two years, has been heavily linked with a move to Swansea, but a deal fell through earlier this summer. Now, reports in Holland suggest Bruce is interested in the former Inter Milan man, who attempted to deflect the speculation this week. "I'm only thinking about FC Twente and our European game next Thursday against Qarabag," he said.
