Hull City boss Steve Bruce hopes to make it third time lucky with a £12m-plus bid for Jordan Rhodes , according to the Daily Mirror.
After negotiations with the Tigers reached an advanced stage last week, Blackburn's owners performed a surprise U-turn on Saturday, when they stuck a "not for sale" notice on the 24-year-old, whom they described as an "icon of the club".

Robinson told The Sun: "The manager has been fantastic. He has been completely honest with us. The person who was going to play instead of Jordan knew.
"It was nice and refreshing. There is no point hiding behind doors.

Former Hull City boss Phil Brown believes Steve Bruce could tempt Danny Welbeck to swap Manchester United for the Tigers.
The England striker is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal sets about re-shaping his squad, and City are one of a number of clubs interested in signing him.
Brown told talkSPORT: "It's not beyond the realms of possibility. The way Steve plays, any player would be attracted to that style of play.
"The perception of Hull has changed over the past few years. The brand has changed. But if he does get Welbeck, it will be down to the manager."
Everton are believed to be leading the race for Welbeck.
