Police are hunting a thief who stole a new Boardman bicycle and left a "tatty" old mountain bike in its place at a property on Bransholme.
The victim had left his Chris Boardman bike in the back garden of a house in Kinloss Garth, Hull, at 7pm on Wednesday.
When he returned from the house 20 minutes later, his bike had been stolen.
Police said an old "tatty" mountain bike had been left against the garden fence.
The stolen bike is described as a new chrome Chris Boardman pro mountain bike with 29in black wheels and white shocks.
Anyone with information about the theft should call Humberside Police on 101.
