News of Shane Long's departure may have caught most by surprise last night, but it's not stopped the national papers from carrying the story today. The Mirror and Daily Mail are just two of the papers who are tipping Long to be a Southampton player before the start of the season.
The only discrepancy is the price tag, with reports varying from £12m to £12.5m bid by Southampton for the striker.
The Irish international will discuss personal terms today with a move away from the Tigers now looking increasingly likely.
I'd be surprised if #hcafc were willing to spend £10m plus on Troy Deeney as a replacement for Long. He's well liked but that's big money.

Long may not be the only departure heading out the KC Stadium before the transfer window closes.
Michael Morgan, writing in the Daily Star, says Steve Bruce is facing a real battle to hold on to Ahmed Elmohamady and Stephen Quinn.
Winger Elmohamady is a £3.5m target for a trio of clubs according to the Star with West Ham, Southampton and QPR all chasing the Egyptian's signature.
Besiktas and Galatasaray in Turkey are also reportedly interested.
Midfielder Quinn, meanwhile, is attracting interest from Premier League new boys Leicester City, as well as Derby County.Ex-Tigers striker plays his part in record night of League Cup action
Former Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz was part of a record-equalling game in the League Cup last night.
Proschwitz scored once as his Brentford team shared a 12-goal thriller with Dagenham & Redbridge in what was the joint highest scoring League Cup tie in history.
The match was 4-4 after 90 minutes and 6-5 in extra-time before Brentford's Harlee Dean scored late on to take the match to penalties which they won.
The result equals the record 12 goals in the League Cup scored in the 2012 tie between Reading and Arsenal, which finished 7-5 to the Gunners.![]()
