UPDATED: 2.25pm
EMERGENCY service in the region are being stretched as they respond to dozens of reports of flooding, caused by the effects of Hurricane Bertha battering East Yorkshire.
Shortly after 2pm today, firefighters were called to Pryme Street in Anlaby, where water is said to be entering homes.
Matt Walton, spokesman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, says it has received around 90 weather-related calls since 11.15am.
He said: "We're trying to get the message across to only call us if there is a risk to life.
"At the moment, most of the calls for service have related to flooding on the south bank, but the worst of the weather is pushing northwards.
"We are starting to get reports of flooded streets in the Hull area."
