Castle Road, in Cottingham, has been closed after a lorry caught fire.
Police and the fire service are currently at the scene, close to Entrance Two at Castle Hill Hospital.
Temporary road closures are in place with access still being maintained to the hospital.
No one is believed to have been injured.
A spokesman for Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals said: "We can confirm there has been a lorry fire this morning outside Entrance 2 to Castle Hill Hospital.
"The road outside the hospital (Castle Road) is currently closed, however Police are filtering traffic at both ends of the road to ensure that patients who are due to attend appointments can still do.
"Patients are being instructed to enter the site via Entrance 1 and Entrance 3.
"Buses are not currently able to access the site."
UPDATE: 1.45PM - One side of the road, moving into Cottingham, has now been opened by police.
