HULL FC half-back Richard Horne expects this current Super League campaign to be his last in a Black and Whites shirt after confirming he won't be offered a new playing deal.
The FC veteran has enjoyed a stellar 16 years at the club right from junior level and has earned respect throughout the side through his tenure.
Horne, 32, is already part of Hull's coaching staff at under-16s level, and as previously reported by the Mail, could join Lee Radford's coaching set-up on a full-time basis.
But the Hull-born man is keen to end on a high note after a disappointing season for FC.
"I've been informed that I won't be offered a new deal next year so for me, I want to finish on a high," Horne said.
"It's been a great sixteen years and I've enjoyed every minute of it. The highs and the lows and it'll be strange not to be turning up next year and being a part of it all.
"At the moment, I'm just contemplating my options of what I could do. I could stay here with the club in a coaching aspect.
"I'd like to think I can join the coaching staff later in my career. It's something I'm in talks with Adam (Pearson, owner), Lee and Motz (Motu Tony, football manager) on what we could do. It's all up in the air at the moment.
"I'm still in talks with the club in what we're going to do. There hasn't been a final decision made yet. I'm just seeing how we go with the rest of the year."
